That’s a wrap on our Champion of the Crescent 2022 paddle board event! On July 23, we raised $243,000 for youth mental health programs here in Surrey.

We would like to give a special thank you to all of our sponsors EllisDon, LMS Reinforcing Steel Group, Houle, Scotiabank, Berezan Hospitality Group, Astrographic Industries Ltd., and Global BC, as well as all of the paddlers and volunteers, our Race Director Bryan Tasaka, and our special guests Paul Haysom from Global BC, Barney Bentall, DJ Goodspin, and Go Taiko. We would also like to thank Fruiticana, Starbucks, Russell Brewing Company, Crescent Beach Lifeguard Corp, and the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCMSAR) for all of your help. This event would not be possible without everyone’s support. We greatly appreciate all of your efforts to make an impact on youth mental health programs at Surrey Memorial Hospital.

As our first in-person event since the pandemic, it was incredible to see the community gathered together enjoying the day; whether you were out on the water, taking part in our fun game activities, or enjoying the food inside our Paddler’s Village. We hope to see you next year!
