Clinic Highlight: Lung Health Clinic
The Lung Health Clinic at Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre (JPOCSC) provides lung diagnostics, patient education, and specialist consultations to people of all ages. All of these patients have conditions which makes regular breathing difficult.
The Clinic is home to three specialty clinics: Severe COPD Clinic, Severe Asthma Clinic, and the Interstitial Lung Disease Clinic. These clinics are unique in their processes; not only do the patients see Physicians here, but they also see Respiratory Therapists and Dieticians or Social Workers if required. Each patient receives a multi-disciplinary approach to their lung health.
The Lung Health Clinic offers urgent pre-operative testing of lung cancer patients who require surgery from BC’s busiest Thoracic Surgery Group located at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
This Clinic is one of the busiest and most advanced in BC. It was the first in Western Canada to offer bronchial thermoplasty surgery for severe asthmatics. This team has also started offering urgent pulmonary function testing for patients enrolled in Fraser Health’s Post-COVID Clinic.
The Lung Health Clinic is one of 56 specialty clinics at JPOCSC.
