Over the last 10 years, the kind-hearted South Asian community has contributed more than $6.5 million to Surrey Memorial Hospital during the Gurpurab Radiothon hosted by RedFM.  We have celebrated this generosity with four significant namings; the Guru Nanak Emergency Department Front Entrance, the Mata Tripta Family Birthing Unit, the Guru Ram Das Ji Stroke Unit and the Dukh Bhanjan Kidney Centre.

This year, the community donated $543,000 to purchase innovative equipment, new technology for patient education, and to enhance family-centred care in Surrey Memorial Hospital’s recently expanded, and newly named, Sarbat Coronary Care Unit.

What a wonderful way to support one’s community! Thank you to the community for their investment in health care. It has a direct impact on thousands of patients and local families.
