The Growing Women’s Health Campaign is back at Shoppers Drug Mart stores across the country. This year 13 stores in Surrey, and 3 in Langley, are supporting the Breast Health Clinic at Jim Pattison Outpatient Care & Surgery Centre (JPOCSC).

The Breast Health Clinic sees approximately 650 patients every month from all across the Fraser Valley, and beyond. 43% of the patients are younger than 41 years old. Since 2011 the clinic has provided service to 33,000 patients, totalling 63,000 appointments.

Each month, 20 to 30 patients will receive a cancer diagnosis requiring further treatment and follow up. 500 patients undergo a mastectomy and 150 breast reconstruction surgeries happen here each year. More mastectomies are performed at Surrey Memorial Hospital/Jim Pattison Outpatient Care & Surgery Centre than just about any other centre in Canada.

When you visit any Shoppers Drug Mart between October 6 and November 2, 2018, consider purchasing a leaf ($1), butterfly ($5), apple ($10) or bird ($50) icon and help us continue to provide the best possible care to women with breast cancer.
